Announcing the National Wildlife Federation Habitat Steward Training class for 2021
The North Carolina Wildlife Federation, in collaboration with two local chapters; Charlotte Wildlife Stewards (Charlotte) and HAWK (Matthews), will be hosting a National Wildlife Federation Habitat Stewards Training course. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in learning how to create certified wildlife habitats, the value and benefits of native plants, native NC wildlife, understanding the major elements of a healthy ecosystem , and important conservation initiatives.
Habitat Steward Training will take place (TO BE RESCHEDULED) at Matthews Community Center, located in downtown Matthews. Habitat Steward Training includes 24-hours of class time, expert regional speakers, and related materials. Participants must attend entire training. Class size is limited to 30 individuals. Volunteer commitment of 30 hours post-course is required for certification.
NCWF members are eligible for a special discounted registration rate. Non-members are asked to register at the general registration rate, but NC Wildlife Federation is pleased to extend a complimentary year of NCWF membership to those registrants.

The National Wildlife Federation held its
"Habitat Steward Training" class in March, 2016 at the Discovery Place Nature. Twenty-five students graduated on March 13th and are now busy working throughout Mecklenburg County on various environmental initiatives. We are planning our next NWF Habitat Steward training class for Fall, 2021. Stay tuned!
